Could you be the newest member of the team at Ferens Art Gallery? We are recruiting a Community Curator (Maternity Cover) to work with the Ferens team to deliver our programme of community focused exhibitions.

The Community Curator will lead the delivery of the annual Open exhibition, which is one of the most popular open exhibitions in the country. With the support of the Exhibitions Assistant, you will support artists through their submission process, work with the selection panel, and project manage the delivery and installation of the 2025 Open exhibition.

You will also work with the Curator of Art and the Access and Inclusion Manager to deliver the first exhibition of the Ferens’ partnership with the National Gallery – the Masterpiece tour (2026). You will work with a creative practitioner and Flourish, a group of disabled and neurodivergent children and young people, to respond to Claude Monet’s 1872 painting The Petit Bras of the Seine at Argenteuil

This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to grow their curatorial experience, while working with artists and communities at the Ferens. You will also gain experience of partnership work with the National Gallery and of working with colleagues across Hull Museums and Gallery service.
