Hull Culture and Leisure have an exciting opportunity to recruit an experienced aviary ranger to work with the team at East Park Animal Education Centre and across Hull’s aviaries.
The role will include the daily care and husbandry of our exotic birds, mammals, reptiles and invertebrates, developing species appropriate habitats and maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare for our current and future animal collections
Other duties include welcoming visitors into our zoos, assisting with event delivery, daily building cleaning and basic grounds maintenance.
The successful candidate must be hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable.
Good communication skills and experience of dealing with the public is essential, together with the ability to work effectively within a small team.
The role is physically demanding and requires outdoor working in all weathers.
This is a permanent, part-time post, working 22 hours per week on a rota which includes regular weekend and Bank Holiday working.
The role will also receive a 10% uplift on the salary due to the hours worked.
