Hull Culture & Leisure Ltd is looking for security staff to join the Operations Team within the Theatre & Hall Service at two of Hull’s prestigious venues – Hull City Hall and Hull New Theatre.

The successful candidate will join the service at an exciting time with Hull still very much in the spotlight having been the UK City of Culture in 2017 and will play a key role in Hull New Theatre’s future as a world-class venue.

This post requires someone who can provide a customer focussed and engaging front line service to a diverse audience. The individual will be required to work at a wide range of events including standing concerts, comedy events, orchestras, plays etc.  The key role is to ensure a safe and secure environment for customers, touring companies, performers and contractors whilst on duty in the venue.  Searches including bag searches to be carried out as required.  Health and safety & security are paramount including carrying out regular building checks.  Other duties include routine cleaning and undertaking basic set up for shows as required

The individual must have excellent customer service skills and able to adapt well to working in the arts and entertainment environment.  They must be reliable, personable and demonstrate a flexible attitude to the role and to the needs of the service.

An SIA badge is essential with a First Aid qualification being desirable. A flexible approach to working hours is essential to meet the needs of the service which can include day time hours as well as a requirement to work regular evening and weekend work.
