  • Operate and maintain audio-visual and lighting equipment to enhance visitor experience.
  • Drive vehicles and manage the safe transportation of artworks and objects between venues.
  • Produce costed plans for construction and repair work.
  • Assist and advise contractors, trainees, staff and volunteers working alongside the technical team.
  • Collaborate with curatorial, education and commercial teams to support events, displays and audience development projects.
  • Work flexibly to support evening and weekend events as required.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure health and safety compliance through regular equipment testing and maintenance.

What we’re looking for:

  • Practical experience in technical or construction work, ideally within a museum, gallery, or heritage setting or knowledge and understanding of the specific nature of the work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with a commitment to high standards of presentation and care.
  • Willingness to undertake specialist training and development to gain specific skills in working with collections.
