Duty Team Leader – Hull Ice Arena
Hull Culture and Leisure is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Duty Team Leader to join our team at the Hull Ice Arena. This role requires strong teamwork skills to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all customers using the ice rink and other facility areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise customers to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Operate the Zamboni Machine to maintain high-quality ice surfaces (a valid driving licence is essential).
  • Open and close the facility during shifts, ensuring safety, security, and smooth operations.
  • Assist in the review and updating of risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and health & safety reports.
  • Oversee the setup and takedown of equipment for scheduled activities and events, ensuring they run efficiently and safely.
  • Provide high levels of customer service, addressing customer inquiries and maintaining accurate promotional and informational materials.
  • Take bookings and liaise with schools, clubs, and other organisations using the facility.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, placing orders as needed (subject to approval).
  • Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and unsociable hours, as required by the service.
    plan holiday cover and optimise staff resources.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • A valid driving licence (required to operate the Zamboni Machine).
    • Ability to swim 100m on both front and back, descend to the deepest part of a pool, and swim 50m in under 60 seconds (swim test included in the interview process).
  • Desirable (Training Available for the Right Candidate):
    • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Units 1 & 2).
    • Plant Operation Certificate.
